  1. Such a great post. My daughter is 15 and it feels like the next few years are about to play out on fast forward. Those words from your son would be hard to hear for me too. I love your tweet that worry may be our first instinct but it doesn’t have to be our first response. Love the scripture pin too!

  2. I loved this post especially the verse, “He has a deep affection for us and watches over us carefully.” I am letting that wash over me today.

  3. Alisa,
It’s been years since my four children left home. No one, no one told me how hard it would be and I was absolutely unprepared! I was up early walking outside so I could cry weeks on end. I pray your post will be read by many young mothers so they will be prepared and let God help them let go. I see you have many shares, and that’s great! Thank you for your writing.

    1. I know, Ann!!! I wish I would have known. It’s so hard to let our kids go. I know how important it is to let them grow up, but that doesn’t make it any easier!! I think it’s so important to let moms know that it’s ok to feel this way.

  4. Beautiful verses Alisa. I always wonder how in the world I have been entrusted to save these children. Such peace found inside of the promises.

  5. What a great post! I just went on a road trip with my 22 year old son this past weekend. It was so much fun to see how God is working in his life as an adult. I felt that pang of uncertainty when he went away to college and I wept as well. So grateful God walks with us through these transitions.
