One Amazing Way to Show Your Husband You Love Him

Do you ever wonder how you can show your husband you love him?

I often wonder what I can do to say “I love you” in a way that he actually feels loved.

A few weeks ago I came across an electronic version of the Love Languages Test.

I’m a sucker for tests, so I decided to retake it and asked my whole family to join as well.

I must admit that I was more than surprised to find out that one of my top love languages showed up as gifts.

However, as I began reading the explanation of why gifts was in my top 3, it all began to make sense.

It’s not actually about the gift for me, but that someone was thoughtful enough to buy me something they knew I would like.

What does this have to do with our husbands?

Plenty.

Many times we seek to love our husbands the way that we need to be loved.

I often try to think of thoughtful things to do for him or sentimental things to buy him.

But that’s what I like, not necessarily what he likes.

And if I’m being honest, many times I feel like I have to do something big to let him see how much I love him.

As I read a post this week at Faith Spilling Over, I was reminded that it’s about the little things.

It doesn’t take much to please my husband. And it certainly doesn’t take anything sentimental.

He loves physical touch and words of affirmation.

Why do I overcomplicate this?

I forget that he doesn’t receive love the same way I do.

I can clean the house until it’s spotless and cook an amazing dinner.

Yes, he will notice and probably even appreciate it.

But if I grab his hand in public, scratch his back or tell him what an awesome provider he is for our family, it goes a long way with him.

It communicates love to him.

How do you communicate love to your husband? What is one way you can show your husband that you love him?

One way you can show him love is to learn his love language.

Know what makes him feel adored by you.

In her post, One Simple Way to Make Your Marriage Better, Betsy at Faith Spilling Over, gives a wonderful list of things we can do to make our husbands feel loved.

In addition to knowing their love language, we can incorporate some of the simple things from her list. They are nothing extravagant. But they are also things anyone would appreciate.

  3. Thank you for sharing about the electronic love test. I love tests too. It is so important to determine the love languages of the people that matter to us. It is so easy to get caught up in always speaking our own love language to others. Thank you for the reminder.
