  1. Thank you, Alisa. I needed your post and especially the scripture verses and accompanying prayers in this moment. Thanks also for the free scriptures & prayer cards. Blessings. Visiting from FMF.

  2. Thanks Alisa – I love these- esp. Ps. 62 – our pastor spoke on rest this past sunday and yes, summer can be the opposite. bless us both as we “fit it in” to the Glory of God!

    1. So very true! Summers can be busy! The lack of schedule makes me feel unrested many days. But I’m praising God for the time with the kids. They won’t stay small long!

  3. Hey Alisa, I think Matt 11:28 is my go-to verse when I need to shed some burdens I’ve been hauling around. Just reading it helps me give it all to my Savior. Thank you for these great verses!

  4. Alisa – I couldn’t agree with you more – it is definitely time for us to go and find rest instead of waiting for our schedules to slow down – I can always stay busy — but must be intentional about finding rest – I love the Scriptures you chose as well. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement to seek rest. It is so very important – Your neighbor today at #womenwithintention

  5. Hello Alisa! I just finished reading another post about resting and retreating- I’m sure that coupled with an insane desire to get away with Jesus means that’s definitely the choice I need to be making! Thank you for the timely scriptures and the urge to slow down before God slows us down maybe it a way we may not wish for ♥ Happy to be your neighbor at Imparting Grace today!

  6. I am horrible at seeking rest. Even when I do and then have the opportunity to rest, I don’t because I have this cloud of guilt hanging over me for not accomplishing the other 7952 things on my to-do list! Alisa, I love these scripture images. Gorgeous! I’m inspired to shake the guilt and get busy resting.
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori

    1. OH, me too Lori!! I’m the queen of go, go, go! I’m always considering if what I’m doing is a waste of time and rest often feels like that! But, I know that it’s necessary. The great thing though is that reading is one way for me to rest and that also feels productive. =) Thanks for reading today. Have a great weekend!

  7. My 2016 Word of the year is Rest, so thank you for this post.

This especially spoke to me: “When I feel stretched or uncomfortable, remind me that You are holding my hand.” I’m not going through the uncomfortable times alone!

    1. That’s a great word of the year, Jerralea! God has been speaking to me about rest lately too! You are definitely not alone in your journey! Have a great week.

  8. I love Exodus 33:14 — Having God’s presence in our lives is a wonderful thing! He goes before us in everything we do. I continue to learn to rest in the Lord! To slow down and be filled with him. Thank you for your words today, they spoke to my heart. Blessings to you!

    1. I think we all have to continue to learn to rest in the Lord, Tammy! It seems I rest and then I try to do more. When I get exhausted, I remember I’m supposed to rest and the cycle continues! Thank you for visiting! Have a great week.
