3 Simple Ways to Celebrate the Birth of Christ
Feast there in the Presence of GOD, your God. Celebrate everything that you and your families have accomplished under the blessing of GOD, your God. Deuteronomy 12:7 MSG
Our family loves to have parties. In fact, we have been known to have elaborate birthday parties with hundreds of guests for our kids.
Instead of getting them expensive gifts, we would give them expensive memories.
The birthday child would help us choose a theme and then we would run with it.
We would go all out.
But all of the ideas, presents, invitations and goodies didn’t happen in just one day…. It was usually the sum of a month of preparation and celebration.
In light of the Christmas season, I thought, We could have a month long celebration for our Lord.
In the past we have put up lights and decorated simply because that’s what we do this time of year.
This year our family will focus on “The Reason for the Season”….a birthday party for Jesus!
A month long celebration of honoring the One Who was born to give us life.
Why hadn’t we done this before?
“Of course we should celebrate,” I told my husband.
Seeing Christmas in this light makes putting up the tree and decorating the house more of a joy than a burden.
Food, friends, family, celebration, gifts, decorations….. What an awesome and generous God we have.
He celebrates His birth by giving us all of these wonderful blessings.
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s celebrate!

It’s not a party without cake!
I heard from a friend that they were making Jesus a birthday cake. What a great idea! Singing Happy Birthday to our Lord will be a fun way to honor Him on His birthday. Celebrate Who He Is
For every birthday party we throw for our children, we highlight the amazing qualities that the birthday child possesses. So this Christmas, we will do the same for Jesus! What better way to honor our Lord than to study His names and highlight them. We’ll be looking into King of Kings, Immanuel, Prince of Peace and many more. To join us on this journey of discovering His names you can visit our Names of Jesus Series Page.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You sent your Son, so that we may have a reason to celebrate. We want to rejoice with You this year by honoring the birth of Christ. Help us to give freely as You freely gave. We praise You and give You all glory and honor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
