  1. There is nothing better to battle the fears of our lives than with the Word of God. Is our sword and we have so much example about David’s psalms and experiences. Love your post!

  2. I love this encouragement, Alisa and that our strength to combat fear is rooted in God’s word. And I agree, let our fearful thought get the best of us is no help. Making up our mind to not let fear have its way and continually abiding in Christ – yes!! Love it! So glad to be your neighbor at #tellhisstory.

  3. I love this post…I love to read anything about David. He was such a great example of true faith and love of God. I go to the Psalms and various verses about David whenever I have fear or whenever I feel like I am not good enough to serve Him.

  4. I have started reminding myself that God isn’t done with me yet when fear creeps in. We have to keep our hope!

  5. I love your explanation of Ps. 27.4 and the idea that to live means to sit, dwell, remain or abide. It makes that verse take on a much richer meaning. Thanks for an excellent post!

  6. Such good advice, Alisa! When we focus on God by spending time in prayer and in His word, we realize that He is with us through all our days. We have no need to fear, because He is there.

Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #MomentsOfHope.

  7. Alisa, This was a great article. All of it. The thing that stands out as something I need to keep working on is the making up my mind part. That’s an excellent point to bring out. Thanks for sharing this insight!

  8. I love Psalm 27, but I never thought is using it to combat fear and anxiety! I actually keep verses 1-4 as my desktop background, so now if ever I start panicking while working, I’ll remember to minimize my windows, read those verses, and remember this post! Thank you so much for this post; it helped me see this Psalm, as well as God’s place in my fear, in a whole new light! God bless 🙂

    1. I’m so glad this was helpful!! I love that God’s Word is alive. Each time I read it I feel like I get something new. Have a beautiful weekend!

  9. The Word of God – our ultimate weapon! Amen, Alisa! Thank you so much for this reminder of hope and for sharing it at #MomentsofHope!
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori

  10. Alisa, this is good stuff. Oh how the enemy wants to paralyze is on fear… Scripture is the best remedy. Tweeted and taking it to heart.

    1. Thanks, Lisa! You are right on…the enemy wants to hold us back in fear, but praise God we have the victory through Jesus! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
